Cobb teachers are consistently recognized as national leaders in their respective fields. Over fifty percent of the teachers in Cobb County hold advanced degrees, and approximately one hundred teachers are National Board Certified. Cobb County School District is committed to encouraging and assisting teachers. Our support programs are designed to mentor, prepare, and develop our staff to achieve success. Beginning teachers receive assistance in four major areas: Planning and Preparation, Classroom Environment, Instruction, and Professional Responsibilities. All Cobb County teachers receive a personal laptop computer to aid in the delivery of classroom instruction. The New Teacher Institute is responsible for assisting and supporting the transitional process for beginning teachers in the classroom. Area Lead Teachers offer additional support to Cobb teachers and assist with mentorship of new teachers. Our goal is to make teaching a positive and rewarding experience.

CCSD has 16 Blue Ribbon Schools – National Schools of Excellence. The District boasts 5 Magnet Programs and an International Baccalaureate program.
